This is the perfect solution for those unable to attend a FBT Workshop in person. 

 

The FBT Tele-Workshop Package is much more than just training over the phone. The FBT TeleWorkshop includes a 30 day consulting package that begins with an 6 hour Tele-Workshop utilizing the telephone and the internet.

 

Once your order is processed you'll be shipped your FBT Tele-Workshop Kit containing your FBT 101 Manual, FBT 101 Workbook, the TALTOA Carrier Directory, the TALTOA Shipper Directory, freight broker demo software, and assorted supplies that you'll use during your
Tele-Workshop. 

 

Your Tele-Workshop will be conducted over a 6 day period in one hour increments each day. The dates and times of your Tele-Workshop will be decided by you and your consultant, this allows for a flexible schedule. Each hour will contain a review from the previous hour. Yes, there will be homework.

Before you finish your Workshop you will work with our web designer to plan the look and feel of your website. This includes choosing the name (www.yoursite.com), template, logo and more. Your website will consist of 5 pages, unlimited email addresses (i.e.; yourname@yoursite.com), 2 forms, pictures and more.

 

Our goal, as your trainer/consultant, is to enable you to have the tools, knowledge, and support needed to be successful as a freight broker. To begin you will choose which dates to attend a Freight Broker Training 3 day Workshop in Fort Smith, Ar (transportation, lodging and meals not included). Once your Workshop is complete you will have a 3 month (90 day) consulting package containing everything listed above.

 

The Freight Broker Training Workshop is conducted every Monday -  Wednesday (arrangements can be made for alternate days if needed). Below is an approximate schedule that will show you what to expect during your FBT Workshop.

 

Day 1 (approximate schedule)

 

7:00 - 9:00 A.M.;  Breakfast available

 

9:00 A.M.;  Meet and greet with your TALTOA Consultant. Day 1 of your FBT Workshop officially begins. The first hour will be spent on you, your background, transportation experience and just getting to know you. Also discussed will be your goals for your brokerage and your plans as to obtaining your own authority or becoming a broker agent.

 

10:00 - 12:00 Noon;  You consultant will explain the history of brokering freight as well as begin discussing the legalities involved. Your consultant will show you several ways in which to prospect for clients. During this time you will also learn phone techniques for talking to prospects and converting them to clients/shippers, also known as "setting up a shipper".

 

12:00 - 1:30 P.M.;  Lunch

 

1:30 - 3:00 P.M.;  A brief review of prospecting new clients and setting them up as a shipper. You will begin learning how to set rates for your loads. This includes creating a rate for the shipper, completing a rate sheet, using the computer to assist you with finding rates, learning the different lanes and their rates.

 

3:00 - 4:30 P.M.;  The proper way to work a load that your shipper has given you. This will include computing a rate in which to offer a truck/carrier, understanding your commission, using different load boards, working with approved carriers, using carrier directories and backhaul lists.

 

4:30 - 5:00 P.M.;  Review. End of day 1.

 

Day 2 (approximate schedule)

 

7:00 - 9:00 A.M.;  Breakfast available

 

9:00 A.M.;   Review of day 1. Guest speaker (when available) from a local manufacturing firm, the topic "What A Shipper Expects From A Transportation Provider".

 

10:30 - 12:00 Noon;  Working with shipper load sheets, developing lanes, using available truck forms, selling loads to carriers. In addition your consultant will expand on the tips and tricks of using load boards for maximum effectiveness.

 

12:00 - 1:30 P.M.;  Lunch

 

1:30 - 4:30 P.M.;  Carrier negotiation, proper set-up of a carrier, legal paperwork, due diligence, insurance, shipper load confirmations, carrier load confirmations, dispatch, check calls.

 

4:30 - 5:00 P.M.;  Review. End of day 2.

 

Day 3 (approximate schedule)

 

7:00 - 9:00 A.M.;  Breakfast available

 

9:00 A.M.;  Review

 

10:00 - 12:00 Noon;  Client to work loads start to finish with supervision from consultant.

 

12:00 - 1:30 P.M.;  Lunch

 

1:30 - 3:00 P.M.;  Load intricacies, blind shipments, double brokering, claims.

 

3:00 - 4:00 P.M.;  Obtaining your own authority, office set-up, agency system, marketing.

 

4:00 - 5:00 P.M.;  Consulting information, issuing usernames and passwords, conference calls, phone support, exit interview, end of Workshop.

 

As part of your FBT Workshop Package you will receive;

 

The TALTOA Freight Broker Training Basic Workshop Kit - As soon as you arrive for your Workshop will be given your FBT Consult Kit. The kit contains A POA (Plan of Action) designed exclusively for you and your business, the FBT-101 Manual, FBT Consult Workbook, Carrier Directory, Shipper Directory, broker agent demo software and various supplies you will need during your Workshop.

Marketing Tool - Whether you'll be working under your own authority or as a broker agent, you'll need your own website. A website is a "must have" marketing tool in today's business world. Your site will be on it's way to being on the web before you leave your workshop.

Unlimited Phone Support - As questions arise you can pick up the phone and call your consultant. Often these questions are for rate assistance, terminology clarification,  and contract assistance. We urge you to use phone support as often as needed.

Weekly Conference Calls - You will be invited to attend our Weekly Consult Conference Call. All of our clients are invited to attend and discuss topics that are of concern to them. This can be of benefit to all as the WCC consists of brokers, transporters, hot shots and trucking companies.

Immediate Email Updates - All consulting clients receive regular emails from us containing important information relating to the transportation industry. It is not uncommon to receive several updates per week.

Monthly Reports - Each client receives our Monthly Consult Report which contains news, information, suggestions, and more.

Software and Service Discounts - Because of our industry affiliations with software and service companies we are able to provide our clients tools for their agencies at discounts of up to 50%.

Client Area Access - As a client you will be given a username and password that will allow you and your staff access to our client area. This is a great tool that you will use daily as it provides information such as the e-version of FBA-101, videos, chats, downloadable forms, account leads and more.
