Who can be a freight broker?
Anyone with the drive and desire to succeed. This is first and foremost as you will be your own independent
business.

What do I need to be a freight broker?
A computer, fax, and phone are the
only tools you'll need. Of course you'll need your own authority or a
contract with a legal broker. If you have no transportation experience
we recommend the latter.

How long does it take to start making money?
This depends on the individual. Normally one can expect to begin seeing
a steady income within 3 months. We have witnessed some start seeing a
regular income within 30 days.

How much can I make as a freight broker?
Again, this varies according to the individual. An average broker should
be able to produce approximately $2,000.00 in load nets per week.
Depending on your contract as a broker/agent, this can result in an
income of $1,000.00 to $1,400.00 per week.

Do you help me to find a job at the end of my Workshop?
As part of your Workshop we show you how to
obtain your first broker/agent contract. If after 2 days of seeking a
broker/agent contract you are unable to obtain one, we ask that you call
your consultant for assistance. We work closely with
several freight brokerages where the principals of the brokerage have
attended one of our Workshops or are either consulted by us. They know
that those that have completed a FBT Workshop possess the knowledge and
confidence needed to be successful in this industry.

What is the difference between a freight broker and
an a freight broker agent? A freight broker is the one that
actually carries the burden of liability. The broker has the
authority/license, bond, and in some instances contingent cargo
insurance. The broker also handles are billing and payments. The agent
is one contracted to the broker to essentially perform the same duties
as a broker but without the direct liability and expense.

Should I start as a freight broker or a freight broker agent?
This is up to you. If you have little or no transportation experience we
highly recommend working as a broker/agent. This will allow you to
concentrate on building your customer and carrier base without incurring
the financial liability of a freight broker with his/her own authority.

Are you a school?
We are a transportation
and logistics training and consulting company. We offer our consulting
services to individuals wishing to enter the industry as well as
transportation and logistics company start-ups, expansions, or those
just wishing to get back on track. To learn
more about all of our services offered you may wish to visit our parent
company
TALTOA.

Do you offer financial aid?
Not in the
conventional sense. However we do offer a PAYGO option with our FBT
TeleWorkshop. PAYGO is short for Pay-As-You-Go. The FBT
TeleWorkshop PAYGO option requires an initial deposit of $195.00. This
deposit covers your FBT Workshop Materials and the first hour of your
FBT TeleWorkshop. Subsequent hours are payable at $100.00 per hour in
advance of your scheduled FBT TeleWorkshop.

Can I do this from home?
This is a great work
at home opportunity. Many that enter the industry start by setting up
their office in a spare room of the house. This enables you to keep your
overhead to a minimum when starting your agency.

How long have you been training freight brokers?
We are in our second decade of training freight brokers.
Originally our training began out of the necessity of training our own
agents. From there we have grown to where we now offer our training
through Workshop, E-Workshop, Virtual Workshop, TeleWorkshop, and our
original FBT 101 Manual.

Is there any type of support after I complete my
Workshop? Absolutely. Since we
are a transportation and logistics consulting company, all of our
Workshops contain 30, 60 or 90 day consulting services. At the end of
your chosen period you are under no obligation to continue. Most clients
do decide to continue with all or part of the services that they were
already using.

I attended a freight broker
school and have found, now that my school is over, that there is little
or no support. Do you have anything that can help me?
Yes. All of our workshop packages are consulting
packages which begin with training for you and or your staff either in
person, via the telephone or the internet. Even if you have attended a
freight broker school we still conduct the Workshop for the consulting
package chosen. The reason for this is that we know that our methods
work and in order for us to be able to assist you, we need to be sure
that you are familiar with our methods.
